The Chief Justice, in a private meeting held last week, ordered that additional pressure be put on Pastor Youcef to recant his Christian faith. however, Pastor Youcef once again bravely responded by refusing to deny his faith in Christ. Thus, reiterating to the Iranian authorities that he could not return to Islam because he was never a Muslim.

As ACLJ reportedearlier this month, Iran has aggressively renewed its attempts to increase pressure and foreully coerce Pastor Youcef to renounce his faith in Christ under threat of death from the state.

“Despite the threat of death, Pastor Youcef remains committed to his Christian faith and maintains that he was never a Muslim. In June 2011, the Iranian Supreme Court upheld Pastor Youcef’s execution sentence for apostasy, but remanded the case to the trial court for a determination if he was ever a Muslim as an adult,” reported the ACLJ.

However, despite substantial evidence, the trial court, the 11th branch of Iran’s Gilan Provincial Court, determined that Pastor Youcef was a Muslim because he was born into a Muslim family.

At that hearing, when the Iranian judges demanded that he “repent,” Youcef responded, “Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?” The judges replied, “To the religion of your ancestors, Islam.” To which he replied, “I cannot.”

The ACLJ further added, “This court has ignored Iranian law (which requires a written ruling within a week of a hearing) and its own promise to issue a final determination of Pastor Youcef’s fate by mid-December 2011. Instead, the Iranian court continues its attempt to essentially make this case go away by refusing to issue a decision while it actively pressures Pastor Youcef to recant.”

Following Monday night’s raid on the seminary, Pakistani police said they were probing the institution’s possible links to terrorist groups in the region.

According to Pakistan police, the chained students rescued from a Karachi madrassa were frequently beaten and rarely fed enough to survive. “The rescued students included kids as young as seven and 21 teenagers,” a police officer said. He added that most victims had signs of torture and developed severe wounds from the chains.

Among the victims, a rescued student later told local reporters that he had been held prisoner for more than 30 days. “I did not see the sky or the sun even once,” the boy told reporters at an area police station where the students were questioned before being released to their relatives.

AFP reported that accounts provided by students and relatives indicated that many poor families believed the madrassa could offer hope and treatment for severe drug addicts in addition to a religious education for the youngest boys among the captors.

Former Marine Corps Cpl. Dakota Meyer Receives Medal Of Honor

According to the Marine Corps Times, a brave Marine who dodged massive enemy gunfire alone in order to retrieve the bodies of four fallen members of his team will soon be awarded the Medal of Honor.

For former Marine Corps Cpl. Dakota Meyer, he will enter history as the third living recipient to receive the nation’s highest honor for his actions in Afghanistan as well as the first living Marine to receive it since the Vietnam War.

As reported by the Marine Corps Times, “Meyer, who left active-duty service in June 2010 as a corporal, will be honored for his actions Sept. 8, 2009. He charged into a kill zone on foot and alone to find three missing Marines and a Navy corpsman, who had been pinned down under intense enemy fire in Ganjgal, a remote village near the Pakistan border in violent Kunar province. Already wounded by shrapnel, Meyer found them dead and stripped of their gear and weapons, and helped carry them from the kill zone.”

Corporal Meyer will join Army Staff Sgt. Leroy Petry and former Army Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta as living Medal of Honor recipients for the war in Afghanistan. Giunta received his medal last fall and Petry was awarded the honor earlier this month during a special ceremonial tradition.

The man of the hour is Michael Kacer of Scranton, Pa. As Kacer was watching Friday night’s game with his 13-year-old nephew, Isaiah, Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson popped a foul ball out to the right of the visitor’s dugout. Suddenly the ball took a big hop and Kacer stretched over a railing to bring it in using his hat and an eloquent gesture.

Those nearby fans immediately cheered and Kacer then received a loud ovation from the entire stadium as video of the great grab quickly showed up on the big screen. ESPN showed the one of a kind video on Sports Center and it has since gone viral on the internet.

Kacer said that a few people have even stopped him on the street in New York to congratulate him on his now famous catch. He told The Associated Press in a phone interview the whole thing has been “like a wild roller coaster ride.”

As tension mounts in the Middle East over topics ranging from Israel’s eminent danger as the Islamic Caliphate moves closer to a reality, Osama bin Laden’s death, the cascading effect of violent protests throughout the ME as well as US involvement in the Moammar Gadhafi fiasco, the world questions what values and morals the USA currently has?

In fact, most of our own citizens are probably scratching their heads while asking themselves the very same questions of the president.

After all, President Obama seems to change his opinion daily and sometimes several times per day when it comes to which country or leader gets his approval and which receives Obama’s wrath.

Glenn Beck pointed out the curiosity of Obama’s timing of tomorrow’s speech, just one day prior to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to address Congress.

All this at a time when America is facing soaring energy prices, record federal spending (even after shattering the debt ceiling), skyrocketing food prices and devastating flooding continues to pound southern states, wiping out record amounts of crops and transportation throughout the area.

So America will have to wait until tomorrow morning’s speech from the President in order to decide for themselves what Obama’s motives are in this latest round of bewildering actions.
